More and more people are looking for ways to earn Dollars at home. Earlier, I wrote about Article writing as a means of supplementing your stay at home income. If you are a quick writer and have good resources to find people needing writers, you could actually do quite well with this. You may be able to pick up a couple of writing assignments every day, especially as word travels around the Internet about your writing prowess.
When you write an Article for payment, your name will usually NOT appear on the website your article is on. Why should it? I don’t believe it should, after all, the website owner paid money for your writing services. If he or she would rather their readers think they wrote it, that is up to them.
So how to get the word out about your skills as an Article Writer? Here is an easy one:
Offer to write Guest Posts. Visit websites and blogs that you like and are interested in the subject material and then ASK. Sometimes you will see a note on the sidebar to say that website owner welcomes Guest Posts. Easy! Now you know they are looking for guest writers. Get in touch with the owner and give some history about yourself with regards to writing and request the opportunity to write a Guest Post.
It will help if you can provide a few links where your quality writing can be read by the website owner. Once you get confirmation to write your Guest Post, do it right away. This cannot be stressed enough. Don’t make the website owner go to the trouble of responding to your query and then have to do the followup to determine when the article is going to arrive in the inbox. Being responsible and writing on a deadline are important traits to have, if you wish to succeed as an Article Writer.
You will likely be emailing the owner your completed article, in order for him/her to review, approve and post on their website.
3 Important Details:
In your introductory email to the website owner, be sure that you request that your Name, Website (if you have one) and contact address be included at the bottom of your article. Requesting that it be kept in Italic font is a good idea as well. Then make sure YOU follow through and add the information to the bottom of the Guest Post. All the owner should need to do is read and approve your article, and then publish it. Make it as Easy as possible for the owner.
Another Detail:
Somewhere within this bottom blurb with your name and contact information, be sure to include that you are available for guest blog and website posting. Don’t forget to do this – always remember that whenever you can get your name in print on the Internet, along with your contact information, you are providing advertising for yourself that is completely FREE.
One More Detail:
Follow up with the website owner. Ask if they received any feedback besides what may have been commented on by their readers. This is very important as it shows the owner that not only are you responsible and complete your work in a timely manner, you have self-evaluation skills (as well as good business manners).
I have received many well written guest posts for my various websites. Want to know how many of those authors actually took 2 minutes two days after the post appeared to email me to ensure I was pleased with their work. Two, yes, two.
The next time I need an paying article written quickly, which of the guest posters do you think I will be in contact with? The first chance will definitely go to the 2 that completed the followup. Those will be the folks who have the opportunity from me to again make more dollars at home!
