Maybe you’re a new parent who’s spending a lot of time away from work, or perhaps you’re just looking to make an extra bit of money from home alongside your job. Whichever applies to you – making a little bit more money can really benefit you – it make living a little bit easier and can often take off the pressures of everyday stress such as bills and expenses.
Thanks to the internet, there are several ways we can now channel our effort into making that extra bundle of cash – and the best bit is – you don’t even technically need to leave the house to do it. So have a read of this list, and hopefully you’ll find something to help you along your way.
1. Join a freelance website
If you have a skill such as writing or graphic design – you could potentially make a lot of money online offering your skills on a freelance basis. Websites like 99Designs, People Per Hour or oDesk, let you create an online profile, and then get hired for freelance work. You could make anything from £10 – £1000 – depending what rates you charge and how big the project is.
2. Sell up on eBay
If you tend to collect and keep old clothes and items, why not sell up on eBay and earn a nice chunk of cash that way? It’s surprising how much you can make for decent quality items and good brands. If you find you have a lot of items – you could sell them in batches every month – so your income is more spread out.
3. Become an online Assistant
Many people are now hiring personal assistants online – so if you have the time, looking into this might be a good idea. You’ll probably have to dedicate a few hours a day to this, and it’s likely to include things such as answering calls, organising someone’s inbox and reminding them of any appointments they have.
4. Start a blog and become an affiliate
If you’re tech-savvy, then it might be a great idea to start a blog. You can choose any niche really – but to make good money from sales and affiliate deals, you might want to look at industries and topics such as fashion, home-ware or travel. After your blog has some good viewers and readers, look into setting up an adwords account too – as this can bring in a nice bit of money every month too, without all that much effort from you.
5. Become a commenter
Many companies will pay people to actively comment on their articles, websites and blog – so if you can hunt out companies that are willing to do this, you could potentially make a nice bit of money from it.
